About us
A Maldivian Umrah group with a teacher at its heart
Taif Hajj Umra Pvt Ltd is a Maldivian travel company that organises Umrah trips for Maldivian pilgrims: families, first-timers and parents travelling for the first time.
The group was founded by Usthaz Abdul Rahman Yoonus, a Quran teacher and university lecturer who has spent his career teaching Quran and Tajweed. His aim is simple: every pilgrim in the group should understand what they are doing and why, so the Umrah is performed correctly and with full presence of heart.
Our team travels with every group and stays with you from Velana Airport until you return home.

Umrah & Hajj guide
What you will do, step by step
A short overview so you know what to expect. Our Usthaz teach every step in detail at the pre-trip classes and walk you through it on site.
Enter Ihram before the Miqat
Take a bath (ghusl), then put on Ihram. Men wear two plain white unstitched sheets; women wear their normal modest clothes with face and hands uncovered. Make the intention for Umrah. On flights from Malé to Jeddah the Miqat is crossed in the air, so we put on Ihram before or during the flight. Your guide tells you exactly when.
Recite the Talbiyah
From the moment you make your intention, repeat the Talbiyah often, men aloud and women quietly, until you begin Tawaf.
Tawaf: seven rounds of the Ka'bah
Begin at the corner of the Black Stone (Hajar al-Aswad) and walk seven rounds with the Ka'bah on your left. You must have wudu. Men keep the right shoulder uncovered and walk briskly in the first three rounds. Make dua freely in your own words.
Pray two rakats and drink Zamzam
After Tawaf, pray two rakats behind Maqam Ibrahim if there is space, or anywhere in the mosque. Then drink Zamzam water.
Sa'i: seven lengths between Safa and Marwah
Start at Safa and finish at Marwah; each one-way walk counts as one. Men walk faster between the green lights. Wudu is recommended but not required.
Shave or shorten the hair
Men shave the head or shorten the hair; women cut about a fingertip's length from the end of the hair. Your Umrah is now complete and the Ihram restrictions are lifted.
How Tawaf worksStart at the Black Stone, keep the Ka'bah on your left and walk outside Hijr Ismail. How Sa'i worksBegin at Safa, finish at Marwah. Seven lengths in total.
While in Ihram, avoid
Perfume or scented soap, shampoo and creams
Cutting or removing hair and nails
Men: stitched clothing and covering the head
Women: face veil (niqab) and gloves
Marital relations, and proposing or contracting marriage
Hunting, arguing, foul language and quarrelling
You may
Shower with unscented soap and change Ihram sheets
Wear sandals, a watch, glasses, a belt or waist pouch
Use an umbrella and stay in the shade
Take medicines and see a doctor
Women may wear any modest clothing and colour
Where the Miqat isComing from Madinah, the Miqat is Dhul Hulayfah. Flying into Jeddah, you cross the Miqat in the air, so enter Ihram before or during the flight.
Made a mistake in Ihram? Tell your guide straight away. Many mistakes have a simple remedy, and our Usthaz will explain what to do.
8 Dhul Hijjah · Day of Tarwiyah
Put on Ihram for Hajj in Makkah and travel to Mina. Pray Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha and the next Fajr there, shortening the four-rakat prayers.
9 Dhul Hijjah · Day of Arafah
The most important day of Hajj. Go to Arafah and stay there until sunset, spending the day in dua and dhikr. Hajj is not valid without standing at Arafah.
Night at Muzdalifah
After sunset, travel to Muzdalifah. Pray Maghrib and Isha together, rest under the open sky and collect small pebbles for the stoning.
10 Dhul Hijjah · Day of Eid
Return to Mina and throw seven pebbles at the large pillar (Jamarat al-Aqabah). Then the sacrifice, shaving or shortening the hair, and Tawaf al-Ifadah with Sa'i in Makkah.
11 to 13 Dhul Hijjah · Days of Tashreeq
Stay in Mina and, after midday each day, throw seven pebbles at each of the three pillars: small, middle, then large. Pilgrims may leave after the 12th or stay for the 13th.
Farewell Tawaf
Before leaving Makkah for home, perform a final Tawaf of the Ka'bah (Tawaf al-Wada).
The route of HajjBetween the holy sites, 8th to 10th Dhul Hijjah.
This is the order for Hajj Tamattu', the form most Maldivian pilgrims perform: Umrah first, then Hajj. Ask us about Hajj places.
Masjid an-Nabawi
Visiting the Prophet's ﷺ mosque is not part of the Umrah rites, but it is a highly recommended part of the journey. A prayer here is worth more than a thousand prayers elsewhere, except Masjid al-Haram.
Greeting the Prophet ﷺ
Walk calmly to the grave, give salam to the Prophet ﷺ, then to Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them). Keep your voice low and do not crowd.
Ar-Rawdah
The area between the Prophet's ﷺ house and his pulpit, a garden from the gardens of Paradise. Entry needs a time slot booked in the Nusuk app; our team helps you book it.
Quba, Uhud and Al-Baqi'
Pray two rakats at Masjid Quba, the first mosque in Islam. Visit Mount Uhud and the martyrs' graves, and Al-Baqi' cemetery, on our guided ziyarat.

Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar. Subhanalladhi sakhkhara lana hadha wa ma kunna lahu muqrinin, wa inna ila rabbina lamunqalibun. Allahumma inna nas'aluka fi safarina hadhal-birra wat-taqwa, wa minal-'amali ma tarda. Allahumma hawwin 'alayna safarana hadha watwi 'anna bu'dah. Allahumma antas-sahibu fis-safar, wal-khalifatu fil-ahl. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min wa'tha'is-safar, wa ka'abatil-manzar, wa su'il-munqalabi fil-mali wal-ahl.
Allah is the Greatest (three times). Glory be to the One who has placed this at our service, for we could never have done it ourselves, and to our Lord we will surely return. O Allah, we ask You on this journey for righteousness and piety, and for deeds that please You. O Allah, make this journey easy for us and shorten its distance. O Allah, You are our Companion on the journey and the Guardian of our families. O Allah, I seek Your protection from the hardship of travel, from distressing sights, and from finding harm in our wealth and families on our return.
Arriving at your hotel
Say when you stop at any place on the journey, such as your hotel in Makkah or Madinah.
Labbayk Allahumma labbayk, labbayka la sharika laka labbayk. Innal-hamda wan-ni'mata laka wal-mulk, la sharika lak.
Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. All praise and all blessings are Yours, and all dominion. You have no partner.
3. Masjid al-Haram · Entering and leaving the mosque, and the first sight of the Ka'bah.
Bismillah, was-salatu was-salamu 'ala Rasulillah. A'udhu billahil-'azim, wa bi wajhihil-karim, wa sultanihil-qadim, minash-shaytanir-rajim. Allahummaftah li abwaba rahmatik.
In the name of Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. I seek refuge in Allah the Almighty, in His noble Face and His eternal authority, from Satan the outcast. O Allah, open for me the doors of Your mercy.
On seeing the Ka'bah
When the Ka'bah first comes into view. Raise your hands and make your own dua too.
Allahumma zid hadhal-bayta tashrifan wa ta'ziman wa takriman wa mahabah, wa zid man sharrafahu wa karramahu mimman hajjahu awi'tamarahu tashrifan wa takriman wa ta'ziman wa birra.
O Allah, increase this House in honour, greatness, nobility and awe, and increase those who honour and respect it, among those who come for Hajj or Umrah, in honour, nobility, greatness and goodness.
Bismillah, was-salatu was-salamu 'ala Rasulillah. Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik. Allahumma'simni minash-shaytanir-rajim.
In the name of Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. O Allah, I ask You for Your bounty. O Allah, protect me from Satan the outcast.
4. Tawaf · Seven rounds with the Ka'bah on your left, starting and ending at the Black Stone. There is no fixed dua for each round; pray in your own words.
At the Black Stone
At the start of every round, face or point towards the Black Stone.
Glory be to Allah, praise be to Allah, there is no god but Allah, Allah is the Greatest, and there is no power or strength except with Allah, the Most High, the Almighty.
There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, in His hand is all good, and He has power over all things.
5. After Tawaf · Two rakats behind Maqam Ibrahim or anywhere in the mosque, then Zamzam.
Walking to Maqam Ibrahim
Recite as you walk towards Maqam Ibrahim after finishing Tawaf.
Wattakhidhu min maqami Ibrahima musalla.
And take the standing place of Ibrahim as a place of prayer (Al-Baqarah 2:125).
Qul ya ayyuhal-kafirun. La a'budu ma ta'budun. Wa la antum 'abiduna ma a'bud. Wa la ana 'abidum ma 'abattum. Wa la antum 'abiduna ma a'bud. Lakum dinukum wa liya din.
Say: O disbelievers, I do not worship what you worship, nor do you worship what I worship. I will never worship what you worship, nor will you worship what I worship. To you your religion, and to me mine.
Innas-safa wal-marwata min sha'a'irillah, faman hajjal-bayta awi'tamara fala junaha 'alayhi an yattawwafa bihima, wa man tatawwa'a khayran fa innallaha shakirun 'alim. Abda'u bima bada'allahu bih.
Indeed, Safa and Marwah are among the symbols of Allah. So whoever performs Hajj or Umrah commits no wrong by walking between them, and whoever does good willingly, Allah is Appreciative and All-Knowing (Al-Baqarah 2:158). I begin with what Allah began with.
On Safa and Marwah
Face the Ka'bah, raise your hands, and say this three times with your own dua in between.
Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar.
Allah is the Greatest (three times). There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He has power over all things. There is no god but Allah alone. He fulfilled His promise, gave victory to His servant, and defeated the confederates alone.
Between the green lights
Men walk faster here; women walk at a normal pace.
O Allah, send blessings on Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings on Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. You are Praiseworthy, Glorious.
Greeting the Prophet ﷺ
Stand calmly facing the grave, keep your voice low and do not crowd.
Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. I bear witness that you conveyed the message, fulfilled the trust, gave sincere counsel to the Ummah, and strove for Allah as He deserves.
Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. There is no god but Allah. Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, and all praise belongs to Allah.
O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant, and I keep Your covenant and promise as much as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil I have done. I acknowledge Your blessings upon me, and I acknowledge my sins, so forgive me, for none forgives sins but You. (Al-Bukhari)
Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar. Ayibuna, ta'ibuna, 'abiduna, sajiduna, li rabbina hamidun. Sadaqallahu wa'dah, wa nasara 'abdah, wa hazamal-ahzaba wahdah.
Allah is the Greatest (three times). There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He has power over all things. We return, repenting, worshipping, prostrating, and praising our Lord. Allah fulfilled His promise, gave victory to His servant, and defeated the confederates alone.
There is no fixed dua for each round of Tawaf or Sa'i. You may also pray in your own words.
