About us

A Maldivian Umrah group with a teacher at its heart

Taif Hajj Umra Pvt Ltd is a Maldivian travel company that organises Umrah trips for Maldivian pilgrims: families, first-timers and parents travelling for the first time.

The group was founded by Sheikh Abdul Rahman Yoonus, a Quran Usthaz and university lecturer who has spent his career teaching Quran and Tajweed. His aim is simple: every pilgrim in the group should understand what they are doing and why, so the Umrah is performed correctly and with full presence of heart.

Our team travels with every group and stays with you from Velana Airport until you return home.

Umrah & Hajj guide

What you will do, step by step

A short overview so you know what to expect. Our Usthaz teach every step in detail at the pre-trip classes and walk you through it on site.

  1. Enter Ihram before the Miqat

Take a bath (ghusl), then put on Ihram. Men wear two plain white unstitched sheets; women wear their normal modest clothes with face and hands uncovered. Make the intention for Umrah. On flights from Malé to Jeddah the Miqat is crossed in the air, so we put on Ihram before or during the flight. Your guide tells you exactly when.

  2. Recite the Talbiyah

From the moment you make your intention, repeat the Talbiyah often, men aloud and women quietly, until you begin Tawaf.

  3. Tawaf: seven rounds of the Ka'bah

Begin at the corner of the Black Stone (Hajar al-Aswad) and walk seven rounds with the Ka'bah on your left. You must have wudu. Men keep the right shoulder uncovered and walk briskly in the first three rounds. Make dua freely in your own words.

  4. Pray two rakats and drink Zamzam

After Tawaf, pray two rakats behind Maqam Ibrahim if there is space, or anywhere in the mosque. Then drink Zamzam water.

  5. Sa'i: seven lengths between Safa and Marwah

Start at Safa and finish at Marwah; each one-way walk counts as one. Men walk faster between the green lights. Wudu is recommended but not required.

  6. Shave or shorten the hair

Men shave the head or shorten the hair; women cut about a fingertip's length from the end of the hair. Your Umrah is now complete and the Ihram restrictions are lifted.

1. The journey · Said when setting out from home and when boarding the plane or bus.

Leaving home

Say as you step out of your house for the journey.

In the name of Allah. I place my trust in Allah, and there is no power or strength except with Allah.

Dua for travelling

Say when you sit in the plane, car or bus at the start of the journey.

Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar. Subhanalladhi sakhkhara lana hadha wa ma kunna lahu muqrinin, wa inna ila rabbina lamunqalibun. Allahumma inna nas'aluka fi safarina hadhal-birra wat-taqwa, wa minal-'amali ma tarda. Allahumma hawwin 'alayna safarana hadha watwi 'anna bu'dah. Allahumma antas-sahibu fis-safar, wal-khalifatu fil-ahl. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min wa'tha'is-safar, wa ka'abatil-manzar, wa su'il-munqalabi fil-mali wal-ahl.

Allah is the Greatest (three times). Glory be to the One who has placed this at our service, for we could never have done it ourselves, and to our Lord we will surely return. O Allah, we ask You on this journey for righteousness and piety, and for deeds that please You. O Allah, make this journey easy for us and shorten its distance. O Allah, You are our Companion on the journey and the Guardian of our families. O Allah, I seek Your protection from the hardship of travel, from distressing sights, and from finding harm in our wealth and families on our return.

Arriving at your hotel

Say when you stop at any place on the journey, such as your hotel in Makkah or Madinah.

أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللّٰهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ

A'udhu bi kalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq.

I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.

There is no fixed dua for each round of Tawaf or Sa'i. You may also pray in your own words.

Questions

Questions pilgrims often ask

Quick answers to what most people want to know before they book. For anything else, message us on WhatsApp.

Who can travel with Taif?

Families, first-timers and elderly pilgrims all travel with us. If you or someone in your family needs extra help, such as a wheelchair, special meals or regular medicine, tell us when you register so we can plan for it.

I have never done Umrah. Will I know what to do?

Yes. Before the trip, our Usthaz run classes that teach every step, and they walk you through each rite in Makkah and Madinah. The step-by-step guide and dua book on this page cover the same steps.

Can a woman travel without a mahram?

Saudi Arabia now allows women to perform Umrah without a mahram. Message us and we will explain how rooms and care are arranged for women travelling on their own, and the documents you need.

Which vaccines do I need?

Saudi Arabia requires pilgrims to be vaccinated against meningitis (ACWY), and the list can change. We confirm the current requirements and the timing of your vaccine when you register.

How do I pay?

Pay a deposit to hold your seat, then pay the balance in instalments or in full before departure. You get a receipt for every payment. Ask us on WhatsApp for payment details.

What if I need to cancel?

It depends on how close the trip is and what has already been booked for you, such as the visa and flights. Please ask us before you pay so you know the cancellation terms for your trip.

What should I pack?

See the Before you travel list in the guide. In short: your passport, Ihram (men), light modest clothes, comfortable sandals, unscented soap, your regular medicines and a power bank.

Is the dua book free?

Yes. Download it to your phone from this page, or message us on WhatsApp and we will send it.
